Roles and responsibilities

Dao joined the Antarctic Research Centre (ARC) in 2016 as a contractor and returned permanently in 2017. She is now the Projects Coordinator, supporting the delivery of ARC’s major research programmes through project coordination, operational support, and financial management across a diverse portfolio of initiatives.

Dao manages and supports large research programmes including NZ SeaRise, Our Changing Coast (OCC) and SWAIS‑2C (Sensitivity of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet to 2°C warming), alongside other ARC activities. Her work focuses on project and budget management, stakeholder engagement, and providing administrative leadership to support research teams.

She also plays a key role in organising conferences, workshops, and science engagement activities, coordinating Antarctic field logistics, and supporting ARC’s broader business and operational needs—helping to ensure effective programme delivery and strong collaboration across teams and partners.
