Victoria University of Wellington scholarships

Many scholarships are available for students at Victoria University of Wellington, through the Scholarships Office.

The office maintains the Scholarships Database, a comprehensive searchable database listing all available scholarships with criteria, value, tenure and closing dates. Most application forms can be downloaded from this database. For best results when searching the database, keep the search terms broad.

The office also welcomes enquiries from students and staff. Please contact us by email or drop in to 10 Kelburn Parade between 8.00 am and 4.30 pm.

Antarctic Research Centre scholarships

The S.T. Lee Travel Award, the Endowed Development Fund and the Arnold Heine Antarctic Research Award are available for students with Antarctic research interests.

Endowed Development Fund and Arnold Heine Antarctic Research Award

Applications for 2026/early 2027 funding open until March 26, 2026.
Funding is available to Victoria University of Wellington post-graduate students studying a topic relating to the Antarctic region or Antarctica’s influence on NZ. Find more information and the application form here.
