Discover the Victoria University of Wellington courses with Antarctic content.
Staff at the Antarctic Research Centre (ARC) contribute to the teaching of a variety of earth science courses including:
GEOS 203/303 : Ice, Oceans, Atmosphere
This course will equip you with an understanding of atmospheric and oceanic circulation and how these earth system components interact to influence the cryosphere (e.g. glaciers, ice sheets, sea ice, permafrost).
GEOS 306 : Past, Present and Future Environmental Change
Sedimentary deposits record past changes in Earth’s surface environments and biosphere – a series of natural experiments that provide important context for the future of global change. You will learn to use knowledge of processes operating today to interpret those past changes. These skills will then be used to both predict the impacts of modern environmental degradation and understand natural mechanisms of mitigation and adaptation.
Postgraduate study opportunities are available with many academic staff. Please contact the staff member directly for more information.
