Kitea Impact Programme

The Kitea Impact Programme is for students who are passionate about leadership, sustainability, global issues, helping their community, and building skills that will look great on their CV.

Programme themes include:

The University’s CareerHub is an online system that provides you with all you need to know about job seeking, career planning and graduate recruitment.

It also has listings of volunteer opportunities and events on campus—many of which are related to sustainability.

VUWSA

The Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA) are strong advocates for sustainability. A Wellbeing and Sustainability Officer is elected to the executive every year. VUWSA also delivers services including free inter-campus bus passes, a community pantry and a student garden. They also actively campaign for students on sustainability issues, including fairer public transport fares and putting in place a warrant of fitness for rental housing.

The Hūnuku—Community Bike Workshop have bike tools and help, open to anyone keen to fix their bike, learn how or help others.

The conservation biology chapter provides local projects for students and staff and supports local community projects.

Generation Zero—Victoria branch

Generation Zero is a nationwide, youth-led organisation that works to promote solutions to climate change.

We are students who support Green Party initiatives and values and work for good green change.

Hūnuku—Community Bike Workshop

We have bike tools and help, open to anyone keen to fix their bike, learn how or help others.

OpSoc

Promotes op-shopping and sustainable fashion through awesome social events and charity work.

Plastic Diet

Plastic Diet is a youth-led organisation dedicated to reducing single-use plastic waste and consumption.

Roots & Shoots

Roots & Shoots was founded by Dr. Jane Goodall and empowers people of all ages to participate in sustainability projects with positive impacts for animals, people and the environment. Visit the Roots & Shoots Facebook group for more information.

UN Youth New Zealand

We create amazing opportunities for youth to express themselves, learn about the United Nations and provide positive solutions for their future.
