Title

Understanding the atmospheric processes that controlled regional variations In Antarctic SMB over the last Millennium

Supervisors

Project objectives and description

This project will mainly investigate controls on regional patterns of Antarctica's surface mass balance over the last Millennium. We will perform climate and ice-sheet model simulations constrained by Antarctic ice core records to assess model skill and determine regional patterns of change. Allowing us the opportunity to better understand extreme events, atmospheric teleconnections, and climate variability and how these impact the Antarctic surface mass balance.
