CAANZ Fellowship award presented to A/Prof Carolyn Fowler
Associate Professor Carolyn Fowler was joined by family and colleagues at an awards dinner in August, where she was formally presented with her Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Fellowship.
Dr Carolyn Fowler was joined by family and colleagues at the special dinner, which Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand hosted due to a record number of Fellowship recipients being recognised for their contributions to the profession of accounting.
Dr Fowler was congratulated on her teaching and research, but also as someone who draws on her own and others’ experiences to advise students on how best to use their accounting qualifications both in the workplace and for the betterment of their communities.
A lecturer in the School of Accounting and Commercial Law, she also undertakes, supervises and disseminates research on the nexus between teaching and the profession, in particular why students choose accounting, how they progress to the profession and what employers are seeking in graduates.
Along with her contribution to knowledge on management accounting and accounting history both in New Zealand and internationally, Dr Fowler is now Editor of Accounting History having been Associate Editor since 2014 and an Editorial Board member from 2013.
