Professor Chris Ryan
Chris Ryan is Professor and Director of the China-New Zealand Tourism Research Unit at the University of Waikato Management School. He gained his doctoral degree in 1994 from Aston Management School, Birmingham, UK, and has been lecturing and conducting research in Tourism since 1980. He has over 200 refereed journal articles and another 200 publications in conference papers, books and book chapters. His research looks at both tourism in China and Chinese tourists in New Zealand. He currently is a consultant to Huaiyang County, Henan Province, which is spending 20 billion RMB on the total reconstruction of the old town.
