Best Graduate Poster at 2015 INQUA Congress

Matt Ryan next to his winning INQUA poster

PhD candidate Matt Ryan won the best postgraduate student poster award at the XIX INQUA (International Union for Quaternary Research) Congress, which is held every four years. This year it was held in Nagoya, Japan, 26 July - 2 August. This was awarded to only twelve students out of 398 students. The poster was titled "Ocean-atmosphere interactions from south-west New Zealand, over the last two glacial-interglacial cycles".

The winning posters were said to contain excellent science, were well designed and had attributes that set them as outstanding from other poster papers presented at the conference.

Matt also presented a talk at the Congress and received funding for this conference trip from the ARC Endowed Development Fund.
