SecurePass for Contractors

SecurePass is our contractor management system, allowing you to work safely when on our campuses and in our halls.

SecurePass is a contractor management system that provides you with the information to allow you to work safely in the campuses and Halls of Residence operated by Victoria University of Wellington.

We currently have SecurePass kiosks in the Security building on Kelburn campus, at Rutherford House information counter, in the Security office Government Building, the Security office in Te Aro, and on Level 12 Rutherford House, as well as at the entrances of all Halls of Residence.

We now have building-specific QR codes available near entrances and exits across campus and residential buildings. Please commence work by either:

Why use SecurePass

SecurePass is a quick and easy way of keeping you safe on campuses and in halls. When you log-in to the app or using a kiosk you will be provided with:

  • Site-specific inductions and critical Health and Safety information
  • Two-way mass communication for emergency situations
  • Contactless, pain-free sign-in.

Contractor Business Administrators

We will work with your administrators to ensure your business is set up and your employees loaded to the SecurePass system. They will be responsible for loading new employees to the SecurePass system.

Induction

Our contractor induction is available online from 1 May. Alongside the safety improvements provided by SecurePass, our new online induction is designed to streamline the onboarding process for new contractors, and provide our current contractors with a simple way to refresh their skills annually.

Your induction expiry date will be included in employee details in SecurePass.

Workers in Halls of Residence

When you arrive in Halls of Residence, you now have the option of using the kiosk which you currently use to sign in, or using a QR code and the SecurePass Contractor app.

Both methods of signing in will provide you with the same information.

Requirements not registered in SecurePass

Ministry of Justice check

You are also required to maintain a current Ministry of Justice check. We will not register this using SecurePass, and you will hear from your University liaison in the regular manner about this.

Insurance

While SecurePass does not register your insurance details, our contractors must maintain the level of insurance that the University requires of them. There is no change to the way we communicate this, you will hear from your University liaison in the usual way.

NB: When you see 'insurance' in the documents section of SecurePass, please disregard it.
