The Te Aro campus is Victoria University of Wellington's centre of Architecture and Design Innovation. It's located close to cosmopolitan Cuba Street, with funky shops, cafés and street life.

The Te Aro campus has two buildings, with the reception located in the University's striking red building at 139 Vivian Street. A purpose-built space Wigan Building has been leased directly behind 139 Vivian Street, allowing consolidation of the whole Faculty within one location, Te Aro campus.

Become a Te Aro Campus Student Ambassador

The University’s Orientation team need current students who want to give back to the University and are interested in becoming Student Ambassador for 2023.

Student Ambassadors help new and future students transition into university life by offering support at events such as New Students’ Orientation and Open Day.

As a Student Ambassador, you will be provided with opportunities to assist at events throughout the year, gain leadership experience, improve your presentation skills, and meet other student leaders.

We are looking for students who:

  • Have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Can work in a large team as well as independently
  • Can lead a team and speak/present in front of a group
  • Can problem-solve and use their initiative
  • Have knowledge of the University environment, support services and extracurricular activities on offer
  • Can work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Will be studying at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington in 2023

The Student Ambassador role is a casual contract for the 2023 year. This is a paid role, but you can also earn points for Wellington Plus and Wellington International Leadership programmes.

Important dates for the Student Ambassador role:

  • Student Ambassador training: Thursday 16th and Friday 17th February 2023 - likely morning. (Please note we may consider an alternative training option for those unable to attend training on this date.)
  • New Students’ Orientation: Monday 20th – Friday 24th February 2023.
  • Open Day 2023 – Friday 25th August 2023
