Making an appointment

You can book an academic writing, study skills, or maths and stats appointment with a Learning Adviser or Peer Advisor.

One-to-one appointments

One-to-one appointments are 50 minutes long and confidential. In order to get the appointment time you want, make your appointment a week to 10 days ahead. You are limited to one appointment per week. Remember that we do not proofread your assignment.

When you come to the appointment, bring any relevant material with you—your essay topic, essay draft, or past work that you wish to talk about.

When and where

*In-person appointments at Pipitea and Te Aro are only available during the teaching weeks of Trimesters 1 and 2. They are not available in Trimester 3, during the mid-trimester breaks or the mid-year break.

Express (drop-in) appointments

If you have a quick question or short piece of writing to discuss, come to our library help desk. We can spend up to 15 minutes with you. You don't need to make a booking for an express appointment.

Come with:

• specific queries you want answered
• your assignment printed
• the assignment instructions.
