Profile

Mr. Shafiqul Alam is a Senior Lecturer of Human Resource Management, School of Business at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Mr. Alam completed his Masters of HRM from Anglia Ruskin University, UK, and Bachelor of Management and HRM from Bangalore University, India. Prior to joining IUB, Mr. Alam served in various academic and corporate roles in both UK and Bangladesh. His engagement in teaching and research across diverse fields sparked a keen interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Systems.

Research Interests

Mr. Shafiqul is passionate about fostering human-AI collaboration within the manufacturing organization. The global manufacturing industry, representing 12.8% of the world's workforce, is confronted with the potential challenge of replacing millions of jobs worldwide in the future. Consequently, there is a pressing need to appeal to AI assistants and foster collaborative efforts on the factory floor. This surge in demand is leading to the rapid development of smart and resilient human-machine partnerships.

His research interests include the collaboration between humans and machines, digitalization, the issue of women's exclusion from the factory floor, and the profound impact of digital transformation on organizations and society. As Mr. Shafiqul explores these areas, he aims to contribute to the evolution of a corresponding and effective collaboration between human workers and AI technologies in the manufacturing organizational landscape.
