Profile

Frank is Netherlands-born and has been making New Zealand his home since the early 1990’s. When he is not traversing the Eastern Hills of the Hutt valley, you’ll find hime at home tinkering with his rich arsenal of computer and networking systems or reading one of his many books on rationality and critical thinking.

Prior to commencing his PhD research, Frank worked for several years in Operational Systems Risk Management, Information Security and Strategic Risk Management roles across a number of industries and countries. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Netherlands, and a Master of Business from AUT. His Master's thesis, completed in 2005, focused on the impact of e-business and innovation in the passenger aviation industry.

Frank’s deep interest lies in risk management from a complexity science point of view; and will try to answer questions such as how risk information propagates through the multiple nodes of a supply network, how do organisations, as agents, within a supply network adapt and change and how does a supply network transform based on these changes?
