Profile
Pete has over 15 years’ experience in information management, research support, and scholarly communications across universities and the public sector, with a focus on connecting professional practice and academic research. His PhD research explores how Māori health providers integrate Indigenous knowledge systems into the delivery of cancer-related health information in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Grounded in Te Ao Māori and a social justice framework, his work examines how culturally situated information practices foster trust, support engagement, and contribute to more equitable health outcomes for Māori communities.

Research interests
Pete’s research interests focus on Indigenous health information practices, particularly culturally grounded approaches to health communication and equity in Aotearoa New Zealand, alongside broader interests in information-seeking behaviour among professional groups and health librarianship.
