The School of Information Management took great pleasure in awarding the top three overall performing students from INFO101 Foundations of IS with prizes generously donated from IT services company Intergen.

“It is great to see capable, enthusiastic students doing well and embracing the possibilities of using information technology in their future careers”, said Allan Sylvester, Undergraduate Programme Director.

The Intergen Young Achiever Awards are aimed at acknowledging the success of the three best performing students in INFO101.

With 1300 students enrolled each year, this paper was singled out in particular for the award as the mandatory first-year course for undergraduate students across a wide variety of disciplines, including commerce, information technology and law.

Top students are selected based on strong academic performance and active engagement with the programme.

In addition to Young Achiever Awards, Intergen runs a graduate recruitment programme employing around 25 graduates across New Zealand each year.
