Student services and support
Get support and guidance during your studies with the Wellington Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Your wellbeing and success in the broadest sense is important to us in the Wellington Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. We offer advice and assistance throughout your studies to enhance your university experience.
The Faculty’s Student and Academic Services Office provides academic and course-planning advice and assistance. Within the Faculty's schools are equity support liaisons who ensure you can enjoy a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. They work collaboratively with support services and staff to facilitate student success in ways that acknowledge and value students’ experience and cultural contexts.
The University’s student services and support page has a comprehensive list of services offered by the University to support you through your studies and to help you stay well and find your study-life balance. The Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA) is also available for your welfare and representation needs.
The University offers useful financial information and support on our manage your money pages, including budgeting advice, criteria for accessing the Hardship Fund, and eligibility for the accommodation supplement and student loans and allowances. You can also visit the StudyLink website for more information and to apply for government financial assistance.
