Te Herenga Waka University Press

Established in the early 1970s, Te Herenga Waka University Press is Aotearoa's leading publisher of new fiction and poetry, and New Zealand nonfiction.

In May 2026, Te Herenga Waka University Press (THWUP) joined the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This builds on existing and strong connections with the International Institute of Modern Letters (IIML), Wai-te-ata Press,  School of Arts and Media, and School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations.
