Last year, we hosted our inaugural Symposium in Wellington at the Majestic Centre. Initially planned as a boutique gathering of 40 participants, it quickly grew into a vibrant event with more than 90 attendees, including international Science Advisory and Steering Group members. The enthusiasm and knowledge-sharing made it clear how important RNA research is to Aotearoa’s future.
Highlights from 2024
Talks spanned the full spectrum of RNA research — from the Platform’s progress and central production facility updates to new vaccine candidates, novel lipid technologies, and international perspectives from Moderna, BioNTech, and Welcome Leap. Sessions also explored tools like organ-on-a-chip models, RNA building blocks, and delivery pathways, alongside insights into the wider Australian and New Zealand RNA ecosystems. Together, the programme showcased both the scientific advances being made and the strong global connections driving the field forward.

Looking ahead: RNA Symposium 2025
This year, we are excited to bring the Symposium to Auckland on 10 November 2025. The programme will feature international guest speakers, updates on global developments, and plenty of opportunities for discussion and collaboration. Just as importantly, it’s a chance to connect with peers, share ideas, and strengthen our RNA research community.
Seats are limited, so we encourage you to register early and join us for what promises to be another insightful and energising day.
