Workplace Health and Safety

We aim to lead education and research in health and safety to reduce the level of harm from work.

Workplace Health and Safety was established at the University in 2020 and continues to grow.  From our postgraduate programme that develops the next generation of health and safety generalists to undergraduate teaching to embed knowledge and evidence early, our doctoral students examine a wide range of complex workplace problems.

Our research is carried out alongside industry to expand the evidence base for best practice in Aotearoa New Zealand. We engage with external stakeholders including WorkSafe NZ, ACC, HASANZ, and other sector groups as well as health and safety professional groups.
