If you want to discover how humans learn and explore how societies develop systems of education, consider a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education. Major in Educational Psychology in a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Psychology to study human development with a focus on psychology.
Study Education Study Educational Psychology
If you want to be an early childhood teacher, complete a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood, or add a Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) to a completed undergraduate degree. To be a primary or secondary school teacher, study for Graduate Diploma of Teaching or a Master of Teaching and Learning after completing an undergraduate degree.
Health, Midwifery
A range of people are needed to contribute to an effective health sector that meets the needs of a diverse population. As an undergraduate, you can choose from Digital Health, Health Policy and Information, Health Promotion, Health Psychology, Midwifery, and Physical Activity and Hauora.
Most of these subjects are majors for the Bachelor of Health. Health Psychology can also be studied within the Bachelor of Psychology.
If you want to be a midwife, our Bachelor of Midwifery is a four-year undergraduate degree that gives you the skills to support the health and wellbeing of new families during and after pregnancy and birth.
Our pathway to a career as a registered nurse is via graduate entry— you’ll need to complete an undergraduate degree (in any subject), then study for a Master of Nursing Practice.
Psychology
Enter the fascinating world of the human mind with one of our wide variety of psychology majors including Psychological Sciences, Brain Sciences and Mental Health, Cognitive Science, Criminal Justice and Psychology, Educational Psychology, Health Psychology, Māori Psychology, Mental Health: Principles and Applications, and Work and Organisational Psychology.
Most of these majors can be completed as part of a Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts. Health Psychology and Mental Health: Principles and Applications are also majors for the Bachelor of Health.
