Claire Healion

Kia ora, I’m Claire (she/her)

I’m originally from Ireland, I moved to Aotearoa in 2019 and feel incredibly lucky to call this beautiful place home.

I’ve always had a curiosity about the human mind, how it works, and how we can support each other through the more challenging parts of its workings. Since completing my studies in occupational therapy, I’ve worked across a range of mental health settings, including inpatient care, community services, acute care response, NGOs, and supporting the development of new services. I’ve also facilitated therapeutic groups and established therapeutic day programmes.

My approach is person-centred, creative, and grounded in empathy. I believe in meeting people where they’re at, working alongside them to build on their strengths, and creating meaningful, culturally responsive support. I enjoy using art and interactive experiences in my practice, finding that creative expression often opens doors that words alone cannot.

Outside of work, I love making art, being in nature, and spending time with the people who bring me joy.
