Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is looking forward to celebrating its newest graduates despite the cancellation of its November and December graduation celebrations.

Graduation ceremonies were cancelled due to COVID-19 related restrictions.

On Tuesday 30 November, 200 graduates will don their graduation robes and trenchers to meet with Chancellor Neil Paviour-Smith, Pro-Chancellor Dr Di McCarthy, and Vice-Chancellor Professor Grant Guilford, collect their graduation certificates, and have their photo taken in the Hunter Council Chamber on the University’s Kelburn campus..

Cancelling the University’s graduation celebrations was disappointing for graduates, says Chancellor Neil Paviour-Smith. “This gives us the opportunity to acknowledge their hard work and success, and to celebrate with them, their whānau, and friends.”

To ensure the health and safety of our University community, everyone attending has registered in advance, will be appropriately physically spaced, will be strongly encouraged to wear face coverings, and to sign-in using the NZ COVID Tracer app.

Graduates who are not able to attend have been invited to join Graduation ceremonies in May 2022.
