Compositing and motion graphics

Born and raised in the UK, Dave started his career in London at Mill in Soho as a Flame Operator. He worked on many high-end television commercials and music videos before making a move to film in 2001. Dave then worked as a lead compositor on projects such as the Harry Potter films, Black Hawk Down and Kingdom Of Heaven. With over 22 years in the VFX industry (and more than 11 of those spent here in Wellington), Dave is now a full-time 2D trainer at Wētā FX.

Having spent eight years as a senior compositor in Wētā FX's compositing department, Dave moved into the training arena three years ago. He now spends his days helping and training artists all over Wētā FX to improve their knowledge and skills in anything that falls under the 2D banner.
