Computing support

Our faculty provides specialist in-house technical staff to support the various equipment and technology used for teaching and research.

The Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation provides both Windows CAD/Design workstations (student domain) and Apple iMacs design computers (mddn.vuw.ac.nz domain).

The Windows CAD workstations are located throughout the various faculty studios, workshop spaces, and computer labs: VS226, VS319, VS322, and VS127.

The iMacs are used solely for the Media Design, Animation Visual Effects, Interaction Design, and Communications Design Programs. They are located in the WG401 Media Design Lab, VS201 Communications Design Lab, and VS320.

Printing and scanning

Printing and scanning is available around the Te Aro campus using the colour multi-function devices (MFDs) that can print and scan. All student printing is debited against student print accounts.

Faculty student computers, personal laptops, and student mobile devices can all use the central student printing services and print credit/tracking system. This includes after-hours (web) print credit top-up capability, follow-me printing, and WiFi printing. Read more about printing.

Specialist CAD/design reprographics services

Specialist reprographics services are available from the Technical Resource Centre in VS004. This includes wide-format plotting, wide format digital scanning, binding, and other specialist printing needs.
