Curator Collections, Whakatane District Museum and Gallery

The multi-faceted tasks when working with collections are hard to pin down to a few lines. Generally, I oversee the welfare of the back-of-house collections, from physical environment to public interaction. My duties involve anything from policy creation and data entry to sleuth like collection research and community liaison. So it's always interesting. Working with a collection that began to be accumulated in the 1930's, although the museum opened in 1972, is fabulous. A current inventory of our collections is highlighting some real gems!

Paula completed her Master in Museum and Heritage Studies in 2008.
