VUW Halloween giveaway promotion terms
1. About
These terms and conditions relate to the University’s VUW Halloween giveaway 2025 promotion. Information on this promotion forms parts of these terms and conditions. Submitting a response is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Eligibility
Any person currently having a valid mainland New Zealand address may enter this promotion. Current University staff are not eligible to enter this promotion.
3. How to enter
To enter this promotion:
- Make sure you are following @vicuniwgtn on Instagram
- Comment the name of the place in the University that you think is the most haunted
- Tag a friend.
Entries must be received before the end of the promotion period. Participants are allowed, and encouraged, to enter several posts.
4. Prize and draw
There will be one prize pool for this promotion. Participants that complete all requirements will be entered. The winners will be drawn at random from all valid entries.
The prize for this promotion is a VUW hoodie and a notebook.
5. Promotional period
The promotion commences on Friday 31 October 2025 and closes on Monday 3 November 2025 at 11.59 pm.
6. How to claim
Winners will be contacted by direct message on Instagram. Prizes can be collected from the University. Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. Winners agree that the University may make posts announcing the winners, including their Instagram handles.
7. Time to claim
All prizes must be claimed within 7 working days of being notified of winning entry. The Promoter reserves the right to redraw or cancel the prize if the winner does not claim the prize.
8. Promoter
The promoter is Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
9. General
The promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are not received, incomplete, illegible, corrupted or which fail to be submitted by the closing date and time. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt. The promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries, to disqualify any entrant or to cancel or amend the reward or these terms and conditions at any time for any reason, without prior notice.
10. Decision final
In the event of any dispute regarding these terms and conditions, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the survey, the decision of the promoter is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
11. Privacy
By entering this promotion, you confirm that you understand that the information you provide is being collected for the purposes described in, and will be used in accordance with, the University’s Privacy Notice (available at https://www.wgtn.ac.nz/site-info/privacy).
12. Third parties
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any third-party social media platform. You confirm that you understand that you are providing your information to the promoter and/or agencies acting on its behalf and not to any third-party social media platform.
13. New Zealand
These terms and conditions and the promotion will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand Courts. All times and dollar amounts are New Zealand times and currency.
