Dr Murugesh Arunachalam is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato. He holds a PHD from the University of Waikato, a Masters degree from the University of Stirling U.K. and a Bachelor Degree in Accounting (Honours) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is a chartered accountant and has twenty years in Accounting and Financial Management in public and private sectors.

Dr. Murugesh has taught in universities in Malaysia and New Zealand. His research interest is in the areas of corporate social responsibility, accounting and methodological issues and has published a number of articles.

He has initiated research in the Indian context in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The most recent work in progress is entitled “Cultural and Political Influences on Social Responsibility: Evidence from the State of Punjab" and hopes to present the paper in a conference. Dr. Murugesh intends to grow his research in India in CSR.
