Professor Edwina Pio

Edwina Pio is university director of diversity, and professor of diversity in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, Auckland University of Technology.

Edwina Pio (PhD, BEd, MNZAC) is professor of diversity at the Business and Law School of Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, visiting professor at Boston College, USA, and Cambridge University UK.

Her research interests are at the intersections of management and work, ethnicity, and spirituality and religion.

Edwina is widely published in international journals and has written a number of books including: Sari: Indian women at work in New Zealand (Dunmore), Longing and Belonging (Dunmore), and Caste Away: Unfolding the Maori-Indian (Office of Ethnic Affairs). She is currently researching and writing on religious diversity in organisations from an employer and employee perspective.

A director on the board of the Australia New Zealand Academy of Management, she is also a registered counsellor, and works on a pro bono basis with migrants.
