Vic Uni announces partnership with CubaDupa for 2026.
For the first time, the University will be a proud programme partner for the 2026 CubaDupa event, held on 28–29 March across the Cuba precinct in Wellington.

Vice-Chancellor Nic Smith says: “CubaDupa captures the spirit of Wellington: a city built on connection, collaboration, and bold ideas. As the university at the heart of the capital, we’re proud to help shape and support the cultural life that sets Wellington apart. This year, our university community will open its doors, share its talents, and show what happens when imagination meets opportunity.”

CubaDupa Festival Director Bianca Bailey says: “CubaDupa is excited to expand its creative footprint into the Cuba Precinct with Victoria University’s involvement. With their reputation for the arts and innovation, they were a natural fit for this partnership.”

As part of the partnership, the Glover Park stage will be renamed the Vic Uni Glover Park Stage, celebrating our ongoing investment in arts, design, and performance in Wellington.

Te Aro Campus on Vivian Street will transform into Whanga (The Cove)—an immersive visual arts sanctuary offering a moment of calm amid the festival’s energy. Visitors will be able to explore exhibitions, installations, student films, video games, and creative activations led by our talented students and staff. It’s a place to relax, be inspired, and play.
