The best 25 photographs have been selected and now it’s up to you to crown the People’s Choice winner. Vote here.

A panel of judges has also selected its top three based on impact, creative direction, composition, communication of the competition brief, and overall aesthetic appeal.

All four winners will be announced on Tuesday 23 September.

This year’s brief was a little different to previous years, with the opening of Ngā Mokopuna last year reflecting the University’s commitment to manaakitanga (being welcoming) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship) for our people and places. This commitment extends beyond the building to the whole University.

To celebrate this spirit, the Sustainability Team invited photo submissions that captured the essence of manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga in action—shown by students and staff as they actively learn, teach, research, and engage across campus and in the wider community.

There are QR codes at the e-exhibition that can take you to the website where polling is happening until the end of Friday.

The Sustainability Photo Competition is an annual event, which collects your best photos to help tell a story about how Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is protecting both the environment and human wellbeing.
