The Pacific region is vast, and this week will acknowledge and celebrate the connections between our diverse cultures.

“Pasifika Week, will always at its core be about normalizing the presence of Pasifika excellence at Te Herenga Waka. 2022 expands on this, to empower our communities and show our students that Pasifika excellence exists in many places beyond tertiary education," says Edwina Harris, President of the Pasifika Students’ Council.

The week will be launched alongside Wan Solwara (Salient Pasifika edition) and a student exhibition at Wan Solwara (Library, level 2) on Monday 8 August, with a careers expo at Pipitea on Tuesday, then Pasifika Cultural Night at the Hub on Wednesday evening. The final event for the week will be the first-ever Pasifika awards night.
