Biography

Upeksha is currently reading for her Ph.D. at the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, Victoria University of Wellington. In Sri Lanka, she works as a Lecturer in English in the Department of English Language Teaching, University of Colombo. She has completed both her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (English Linguistics, Honours) and Master’s Degree in English Studies at University of Colombo. During her tenure as a Lecturer for over ten years, she has engaged in coordinating and conducting EAP, ESP, and proficiency courses for ESL and EFL learners. Her research interests are on Linguistic Landscape Studies, Sri Lankan English, Language Policy, Discourse Analysis, and Computer Mediated Discourses.
