This course provides advanced knowledge about the role and function of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. Course learning objectives
Students who pass this course will be able to:
Outline the functions of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
Explain the role and scope of practice, professional ethics, codes of conduct, and models of ethical practice for the workplace health and safety professional.
Compare approaches and tools for communication, advocacy and persuasion in the health and safety context in the context of building effective working relationships.
Apply approaches to establishing teams, and leading and collaborating effectively with others.
Demonstrate knowledge of research methods and research application in the context of health and safety management.
How this course is taught
This course will be taught with compulsory block course days at the Kelburn Campus, Wellington, with an option to join online.
In addition,on Tuesday's 6-7pm there are weekly online tutorials that students are expected to attend.
Recordings will be available on Nuku.

- Ethical Dilemmas Mark: 30%
- Ethical Decision-making and Corporate Social Responsibility Mark: 40%
- Critical Examination of Research - Literature Review Mark: 30%
