Profile

Steve Tewrie Kimbu is a PhD student in the School of Marketing and International Management exploring how born global firms sustain growth after their early international success. Whist being an offshore student, Steve is also a senior lecture at IBSUniversity in Papua New Guinea and an adjunct lecturer at Southern Cross University, Australia. Steve completed his bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Papua New Guinea and a Master of Management studies (MMS) degree with honours at Waikato University, New Zealand. His research interests include internationalization of born global firms, SMEs and entrepreneurship.

Before pursuing academic career, Steve has spent over 20 years working in both private and Government sectors in PNG and abroad. He was one of the senior directors and part of the APEC PNG 2018 leadership team that successfully hosted all APEC meetings leading up to the leaders’ week.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies – University of Papua New Guinea

Post Graduate Diploma in International Management – Waikato University, New Zealand

Master of Management Studies (MMS) – Waikato University, New Zealand.
