These prizes were established by Janet Holmes in memory of her husband and are intended to encourage Pasifika students to pursue a career in early childhood education.

The Prizes may be held in conjunction with other Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington awards.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks to the donor within one month of receiving the prize, which will be forwarded appropriately.
