TECH Bootcamp

The TECH Bootcamp in October 2026 is a week of hands-on science for Year 12-13 students in the Hutt Valley.

Our kaupapa is to connect secondary school students—primarily Māori and Pasifika—with the world of STEM, to help inspire and nurture their future career paths. Over 4 days in early October, the students will get the opportunity to visit science and research sites across Wellington and get some insider knowledge of the world of STEM by working alongside scientists and engineers.

Who should apply

The TECH Bootcamp is open to Year 12–13 students in the Hutt Valley.

We are looking for students who have a keen interest in science (particularly physics) or engineering, and are looking into study/pursue a career in these fields. Applicants must include a message of support from their kaiako/teacher.

All costs (travel to locations outside of 69 Gracefield Road, food, and activities) are covered.

We weren’t just watching—every day we were building things, testing things, or exploring something new. It gave me a totally different view of what science is.
