Associate Professor Barbara Allen

Barbara Allen is an Associate Professor in Public Management and Policy and currently serves as the Head of School at the School of Government, Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Her research focuses on public management and public policy, and she has contributed to a diverse range of research programmes.

Her scholarly work includes publications in the Journal of Public Procurement, examining public procurement in New Zealand, and in the Australian Journal of Public Administration.

Prior to her appointment as Head of School, Barbara held academic and research positions at several institutions, including the University of Nottingham’s School of Sociology and Social Policy, the Institute of Public Management and Governance, Warwick Business School, and the Institute of Local Government Studies at the University of Birmingham.
