Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori at Te Herenga Waka

Te Herenga Waka is celebrating Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori next week, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Rātapu 14 Mahuru

  • 11 am‒2 pm, The Hub ‒ Sign-painting for the national hīkoi with Te Hōhaieti o te reo Māori and Ngāi Tauira.

Rāhina 15 Mahuru

  • 8.30 am, Meet in the Hub for the walk down to the hikoi, Te Wiki o te Reo Māori Parade, which takes place on Wellington waterfront.
  • Ngāi Tauira produces Te Ao Mārama, a special Salient edition for te wiki.
  • 5:30 pm, Hunter Lounge ‒ Pō Patapatai/Quiz Night.

Rātū 16 Mahuru

  • 10 am‒4 pm, Ngā Mokopuna ‒ Rā Makete/Māori Market

Rāapa 17 Mahuru

  • 12 noon, Ngā Mokopuna ‒ Tautohetohe/Debate with staff vs students.
  • 6 pm, Ngā Mokopuna ‒  Pō Kiriata/Movie Night.

Rāmere 19 Mahuru

  • 10 am, University Recreation Dance Room ‒ Whakamakaka / Māori movement group exercise class.
  • 1 pm, Ngā Mokopuna ‒ Ngāi Tauira will perform their Te Huinga Tauira.
