The University’s eight ambassadors are from China, India, Malaysia, the United States, Vietnam, and Norway, studying across six different faculties with areas of study ranging from a PhD in Linguistics to a Bachelor of Architectural Studies.

One of our ISAs, Malaysian international student Anis Aqeelah Afrina Mohd Raduan said, “Victoria University of Wellington makes me feel like I have a family here—it is like a home. That’s why I wanted to contribute back, and one of the ways is being an International Student Ambassador. I want to let people know that it is amazing here!”

The ambassadors talk with prospective international students through The Ambassador Platform, a student engagement app that allows ambassadors to upload content, respond to FAQs about life in Wellington, and chat directly with prospective students. Whether sharing photos of student group adventures and campus events or giving recommendations for what to put on a Wellington activity list, ISAs provide valuable insight into the great opportunities that the University and the city offer to current students.

Since the launch of the University’s platform, the ISAs have connected with 257 people from 57 countries. Find out more about our ambassadors on our Meet our students page, and watch the University’s video about the platform here.
