Celebrate NZ Chinese Language Week with Colour and Creativity
We’re excited to invite Year 1-8 students to take part in our Confucius Institute Colouring Competition to celebrate NZ Chinese Language Week. This is a fun, creative way for students to celebrate the beauty of the Chinese language and culture through art.
Deadline for submissions is Friday 24 July.
How to Participate
1. Download the Colouring Sheet
2. Add colour and creativity - Students can use crayons, pencils, markers, or paints to bring the design to life. Encourage them to think about the theme of language, culture, and connection!
3. Submit Entries
- Email a scanned copy of the finished artwork to: Confucius-institute@vuw.ac.nz
- Deadline for submissions: Friday 24 July
- Each entry should include:
- Student’s full name
- Year level
- School name and teacher contact
- Please use scanner to can entries in colour. Unclear, warped, distorted images will not be accepted.
- Entries should be clearly labelled with Name_Year_School e.g. JohnBrown_Year4_BrownSchool
Prizes
Chinese fun and goodie packs! Winners judged for each year group.
Terms & Conditions
- Open to NZ primary school students in Years 1-8
- Original hand-coloured entries only; no digital colouring or editing.
- Winning entries will be shared on our online.
