Profile

Joy Gribben is a PhD student in Economics at Victoria University of Wellington. Her research explores the costs of weather related natural disasters, the impact that climate change has had, and will have in the future, and the trade offs between action and inaction on adaptation. Joy has a multidisciplinary academic and employment background including government relations, communications and policy in the public service. She has worked in the Prime Minister's Office, Deputy Prime Minister's office and with many Ministers, and was on the executive of the Royal Society Te Apārangi. More recently she worked as  Principal Advisor Climate Resilience for Christchurch City Council.
