The Confucius Institute at VUW has donated several Chinese books and teaching materials to Whakatane Intermediate, host school of our Mandarin Language Assistant Zhang Qian. Zhang Qian also assists in the Chinese language programmes of Whakatane High, Saint Joseph, Opotiki College and Opotiki Community School. Following positive feedback from parents and the local community, both Opotiki and Whakatane wish to further develop their Chinese language programme.
