About

Kia Ora! I am local resident of Te Whanganui-a-Tara. I have been working at Student Counselling since 2020. Before that I have worked in a range of different areas in mental health including inpatient work, community work, Māori mental health and primary care.

I am passionate about mental health therapy and counselling. I am a registered nurse with postgraduate mental health training and a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR. I feel privileged and humbled to have a job where I can help, creating a safe space where we can work out what is going on, how to work through it and find ways to live a rich and fulfilling life, overcome adversity.

Outside of work I am a geek, parent, and enjoy bicycles. I love Star Wars, sci-fi, horror, fantasy and generally anything geeky. I also enjoy reading books about counselling and mental health. I love parenting my two young kids and biking around Wellington.
