About

They/Them

Kia ora, Ola, Hello!

I identify as a Madeirense/Scottish, non-binary-lesbian who now calls Aotearoa New Zealand home. I originally hail from Edinburgh, Scotland (my birthplace). I am a Registered Member of the NZAC (New Zealand Association of Counsellors) and an Advanced-accredited Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity Therapist (Pink Therapy, London).

I have a background in health and fitness, having played sport at international level with over twenty years of supporting and working with young people in various settings (youth/community and residential care mainly).

More recently (over 5 years), I have worked with students as a member of Student Counselling Service—Mauri Ora, Victoria University of Wellington—and previously at Edinburgh University (two years), and Student Health and Counselling at Massey University, Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand (three years).

I would describe my counselling style as affirmative and client-centred with a focus on three R’s: Respect, Relationship and Resources. I have a particular interest in GSRD (Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity), Humanistic/Mindfulness/CBT/Existential and Narrative Therapies.

Whatever it takes to support the ‘person’ to grow and bloom 😊
