During 2015 Professor John Brocklesby had two papers accepted and published in the European Journal of Operational Research, which is now globally ranked the third most prestigious publication in the Management Science discipline.

He is the first Australasian scholar to be appointed to a fourth term as a distinguished Research Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management.

Professor Brocklesby, who is head of the School of Management, was also appointed to the Europol Expert Panel of academics who work in the area of strategies to address global criminality, and has been reappointed to a fourth term as a member of the PBRF Business and Economics panel.

Professor Evan Berman receives a "Cornerstone Author" award

In December 2015, Professor Evan Berman received a "Cornerstone Author" Award from Sage Publications (the premier science publisher) for his most recent book Human Resource Management in Public Service (5th edition, 2015).

The award citation for this honour notes: "first-rate scholarship and quality writing... making it a mainstay in the discipline. This award celebrates the lasting impact of your work."

Evan Berman is Professor of Public Management and Director of Internationalization at the School of Government.

ANZAM Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation of 2015

Rodney Scott, freshly graduated with a PhD from the University of Queensland, has received the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation of 2015.

His PhD thesis "Group Model Building and Mental Model Change" was completed under the supervision of A/Prof Bob Cavana from the School of Management, and Dr Don Cameron at the University of Queensland. Colleagues applaud Rodney's work helping to raise the profile and impact of Systems Thinking and System Dynamics in the Australasia region and beyond.
