Keitha Booth

As the Open Government Partnership's Independent Researcher, Keitha is researching New Zealand's commitment to and implementation of open government, in particular, access to information, civic participation and public accountability. She has presented extensively and published on information policy, open licensing, open data, egovernment and government information management.

Previous roles

Keitha works at the intersection of technology, information and policy in the public and private sectors, and has had roles in public policy, e-government, information technology and librarianship. From 2008 to December 2015 she led New Zealand's Open Government Information and Data Programme, which developed and implemented government policy to allow legal re-use of public information and data as a means of driving economic, social, environmental and cultural growth. She has over 30 years of research experience and consultancy, including for the Beca Group.

A graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, Keitha is a Fellow of Internet New Zealand, an Associate of the Open Data Institute (UK), a Digital New Zealand Advisory Board Member and a former member of the Creative Commons Aotearoa NZ Advisory Panel.
