Research Interests

I am an environmental social scientist. My current research centres on tools for improved thinking and group processes to help tackle the complex socio-environmental challenge of climate change adaptation.

PhD thesis

Title

Priming for decision making under uncertainty using serious games.

Supervisors

- Dr Judy Lawrence

- Dr Paula Blackett (NIWA)

Project objectives and description

My research examines the role serious games (simulation/scenario/roleplaying games designed for non-entertainment purposes) can play in improving decision making for coastal climate change adaptation – such as preparing decision makers to account for the inherent uncertainty and changing risk involved in climate change, and improving staff understanding/collaboration in organisations.
