This prize arises from a fund donated by the family in memory of Jan Whitwell, Senior Lecturer in Economics/Money and Finance at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington, 1989-1993.
The prize is awarded annually to the two best students enrolled in ECON 305 who, in the opinion of the Head of School of Economics and Finance, are the best students of the year and worthy of the award.
The value of the prize in any year is determined by the Victoria University Foundation after consideration of the income from the fund. The balance of income not expended shall be added to the fund.
Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
