A L Hollings Trust Award
$1,200 (subject to available funds)
No application required
The award is offered annually to the student who:
- received an Achiever Scholarship (under the financial hardship or low-decile categories) in their first year of LAWS study, and
- gained the highest GPA in 100-level LAWS.
Students must be enrolled full-time in 200-level LAWS study prior to payment being made.
This award was established in 1973 by the Hollings A L Memorial Trust, which left a bequest to the Victoria University of Wellington to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged students enrolled in the Faculty of Law.
If the Faculty of Law considers there is no candidate of sufficient merit, no award will be made.
If in any year the award is not offered, the funds may be used in a subsequent year.
The recipient will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will be forwarded appropriately.
