Dr Gina Grimshaw and her German colleagues have been awarded the 2016 New Zealand - Germany  Science & Technology grant. Their project title, "Controlled by Emotions? Understanding the Interplay between emotions and higher cognitive function using electrophysiology.

A while ago Dr Gina Grimshaw applied for a NZ-Germany catalyst grant. The funding decision was delayed, but the team now have confirmation they have been successful securing this grant. This means Gina's two German colleagues (Sebastian Ocklenburg and Jutta Pedersen) will be visiting in 2017 and 2018 for about 3 weeks each time.

Gina will similarly go to Germany twice as well. They are planning to do some student workshops on ERP methods and genetic models of hemispheric asymmetry while they are here. Ultimately this team hope to apply for some HRC funding (and probably some German funding as well) for a joint project on neural mechanisms of cognitive control.

Their Project Title for the grant: Controlled by Emotions? Understanding the interplay between emotions and higher cognitive function using electrophysiology.
